SGT Medical College, Hospital & Research Institute, Budhera, Gurgaon (Delhi NCR
Region) is a unit of Dashmesh Educational Charitable Trust, which was
constituted in the year 1999, with the avowed object of spreading the message of
Sree Guru Gobind Singh (Dashmesh) that the highest service is rendered by spread
of knowledge. The trust aims towards providing quality education by creation of
centers of academic excellence for promoting studies in Sikhism and other
subjects, and also aims to serve society by providing better health care
facilities to the needy at an affordable cost.
The Trust committed in its sprit to ameliorate the rural health
in preventive, curative and rehabilitative spheres of medicine, has carefully
chosen the place of implementation in a rural back ground, but with in the close
proximity of Gurgaon and Delhi.
To achieve its aims, the Trust established SGT Dental College,
Hospital & Research Institute, from 2002-03 academic session, which is
affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. The
Post Graduate Programmes in all the nine specialties of Dental sciences have
also been approved by the DCI and are being organized since 2008-09. The Dental
Mechanic and the Dental Hygienist courses have also been approved since 2008-09.
In the same year, Bachelor of Physiotherapy course has commenced. The Trust has
also applied for opening of nursing and paramedical courses, and is at the verge
of getting the mandatory permissions.
In the year 2009 the Trust has applied for the establishment of
Medical College with the appropriate authorities, and got permission to commence
1st year MBBS course from the academic session 2010-11 with an intake capacity
of 100 students per annum vide MCI Letter No MCI.34(41)/2010/Med./918 Date
15/07/2010.
